Birthdays are for kids -

Your Birthdate: February 1

You are a natural born leader, even if those leadership talents haven't been developed yet.
You have the power and self confidence to succeed in life, and your power grows daily.
Besides power, you also have a great deal of creativity that enables you to innovate instead of fail.
You are a visionary, seeing the big picture instead of all of the trivial little details.

Your strength: Your supreme genius

Your weakness: Your inappropriate sensitivity

Your power color: Gold

Your power symbol: Star

Your power month: January

Ok, so I'm getting older. . . and I'm excited about it can't you tell? Yeah, right. Oh well, at least I get some presents out of it right? I have to get up at 4:30 am to get to work for inventory (every month, first day of the month) and that will certainly make my day special!

I've been working on my Moss Stitch swatch for TKGA MK Level II and I am now approaching this one for the third time. Good grief, it's kicking my butt. I tend to get holes between the knit and purls and it looks crappy. Yes, I've been pulling the stitches tight on my second swatch, and it does look a lot better, but to be honest, I would never knit this way intentionally. It hurts the fingers! So tell me what this is teaching me? To lie? Hhhmm, have to think about that one.

Still no camera, so still no pictures, sorry! I am still plugging away on Elektra and some wool and kid mohair blend I got off e-bay. So, really not much knitting going on, but love the spinning Jerry!

Have a good week!

Don't 'cha just love RED!?

Your Aura is Red

Your Personality: Self-confident and stunning, you live in the now! You love life and experience all it has to offer.

You in Love: You're a bit private and have trouble opening up. You need a secure guy who can deal with your independence.

Your Career: Your ideal job gives you a ton of control and concrete results. Consider being a chef, surgeon, or architect.
Ok, so this is my aura. . . how very cool is that? Only wish I could look like that picture - ha! I do love the color red, and blues and greens. It makes me wonder what everyone else's aura is -
I've completely stalled on my Arches project, and I have to say it is because I hate the arches. So, I am working on replacing the arches with a stitch called telescope lattice. It's pretty and has the same arch type shape of sorts, so it should work -
The other project I am coveting right now is the CIT (Crossed in Translation) sweater. You can see it here: http://www.crossedintranslation.com/ I have the book and I need to do this one, besides all of that I work for a Japanese company and we have a translator! So, there is no reason I couldn't get this one going (erhm, except for the bazillion wips I have going!)

One of my Pet Peeves

You know, I have a few pet peeves. One being if you say your going to do or state that you will do something, then you should in good faith do it! Let’s take an example, shall we? I have been given this wonderful gift of a digital camera for my birthday (last year) and this November the darn thing just stopped working correctly. Why? Well, hell if I know! I don’t abuse it, and I am very careful with it, so your guess is as good as mine. So, I take it and send it off to be repaired (still under warranty) and they take their time fixing it, so two months later, I receive my camera back, oh boy! I’ve used it all of two weeks and it is not working again, the exact same thing. . . so I call Fuji and they say they will send me a Fed –Ex postage paid label, well that’s cool I think. But, did I get it? NO, of course not. Any ya know the birthday is coming up here pretty soon (again!) and the warranty will expire, so I’m sending it off again myself tomorrow to hopefully, get it fixed again. (Do you think they will replace it? No, I don’t either, darn it all.) I would like to pitch it, but it was a gift and it was expensive, so what else can I do!

Ok, enough, I have a few pictures in reserve, here is Elekta roving pulled straight off the roll:

Here is the same roving pre-drafted:

And being plied:

I really love this fiber, although I am having a lot of purple dye come off when I set the twist. I need to contact Ms. Lisa about it, as I have tried to set the dye with vinegar, but I am not having a lot of success.

Are we back to normal yet?

I think things here have finally settled down from the holidays and my daughter’s sweet 16th birthday party on Friday night that moved into Saturday morning! It all started with me taking an hour off work, driving a half hour home, picking up the girls, driving a half hour back to the town I came from, and feeding and sending three teenage girls off to the movies! Oh, but then I drove the half hour back home, again! Dh, Chris got to then drive the half hour out and back again after the movie ended (King Kong, a three hour deal, or we would have stayed in Bowling Green!) I think we spent three hours on the road instead, so, I’m not sure if this truly worked out in our benefit or not. Saturday, we spent the morning shuffling the girls back home, and then driving the hour to Brentwood, TN to bring the birthday girl to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Sure, that worked out, at 4:45 in the afternoon, the wait was 1hour and 45 minutes! Good Grief! So, we went to Carraba’s instead, but back to the CF for dessert, which took a half hour to just buy that! Then we drove the hour it took to get home. All I can say is sometimes it’s a bitch living in the country!

Chris has just now gotten on the road with Bryan bring him back to school. Poor Bryan, had a rough first semester, and I’m not too sure how enthusiastic he is about going back right now. However, we are supporting him in everyway that we can from the sidelines and hoping he will see that if he is struggling so much in Calculus why would he want to continue on this path?
Anyway, with all this and going back to work, the fiber front has suffered from neglect! Here is my progress on Arches, a sweater that I am working on with Mel, (I think!). I plan to get back to it this afternoon, the arches are so fast, I should finish the back this afternoon.

The second photo is more true in color, but I liked the first one too! So take care all of you out there!
