Long Weekends

Long Weekends are just The BEST!!

I am so lucky, the plant shut down on Friday and Monday for an extra long Memorial Day weekend! Ya hoo! So, what have I been doing with all my extra time?? Well, hmmh, lets see: on Friday I slept, yup that’s it folks slept! From 10 PM Thursday evening until 11:00 Friday morning, then went back to bed at 1:00 and slept till 3:30. You would think I would have had problems sleeping Friday night, but no, I slept straight through 10PM (Fri) to 7AM Saturday. Well, I guess that’s what MS can do to ya sometimes. At least for me. . .

If you have the inclination, please give to Claudia's Ride

But the weekend before this my little group of knitter’s went on a Knitter’s Retreat to Knobs Haven House in Loretto, KY at a catholic convent. It’s basically a retirement home for nuns, but we stay in the “big house” and party and knit or spin till we can’t no more then sleep a little and do it all again the next day! Lots of fun to be had with all my knit buds. We didn’t even get lost going there this year! (Or coming home either!)

So, back to this weekend, (Yeah, I’m pretty disjointed today) I finished my DFS scarf last weekend and hung it on the drying rack, and decided it was way too small, so I am now into repeat #7 and hopefully, will get 8 repeats out of Lisa’s Sky Drama.

I have also been beading, but have no pictures to show you. I have valiantly been trying to make Beyond Chain from Bead and Button, but it’s not coming along very well. I personally think they used bigger rings than I did! Such a bummer, so, I am trying to figure out what to do about that.

And then I am still spinning Elektra –Can you even believe how huge those arms are? Good God!

Enough for one weekend don’t you think?

And June rambles on. . .

Hey guys, well, see. . . it's Mother's day, and well, I can't say I've done a darn thing today. I usually get my posts all ready on Sundays, but I just didn't get there today. Yesterday was Bryan's 19th birthday and we were quite busy with that. . . he is a very low maintence child, but I have to try anyway! A couple of cd's and a pc game later and he was very happy. Plus cake, and Olive Garden for dinner, which we have to drive 45 minutes to get to. That's the thing with living in the small town America, it takes a half hour to get anywhere. But, that's ok! We like it this way.

I did start a project out of Bead and Button, but it's not working out correctly, so will have to try again next week after I get some replacement jump rings. Then, I am on my 7th repeat of the DFS and hope to finish this week. Next weekend is a Knitter's Retreat we girls have been doing the past couple of years. It's quite a drive but it's usually a good time. I plan to bring my wheel (Joy - Rose is too heavy) and something from my ufo pile. . .probably a doily that has been languishing. . . Found a really cool blog today with this as it's highlight: Ella and boy,is it beautiful. Do you think I can find her blog now though?? Heck no! I know it's Liz and I know she's on typepad. . . I even commented, but can't get back there. Yah, I'm computer literate. Actually, since DS has been home, he has rearranged a few things and we no longer us IE, we use Firefox instead, so I am still learning a few things here! I am now searching through stash to make this up in! They of course used Lady Godiva by Hand Maiden. Well, a bit pricey for me right now, although I really want some! Wah!

Probably no post next week as DH, Chris is off to Massachusettes again he will be traveling one week out of three until they get that damned machinery down here. I tell ya, the left hand don't know what the hell the right hand is doing at his place of employment. Which is why I left! Caryn has two weeks left of school, then she is out for the summer. I know she is looking forward to that!

Off to see the end of West Wing, my absolute favorite show. . . darn them, why can't it just keep going?

Sans MD$and Wool Festival -

I didn't make it to MD this year, and I am bummed about that. However, my overflowing closets and fiber room just didn't warrant a trip this year, no matter how much I wanted to go! My wonderful sister who lives 20 minutes from the festival just called me and told me she had purchased a T-shirt for me anyway. . . how cool is that?! So, I am now looking forward to reading everyone's blogs and seeing all the fun that was had by my cyber friends. I am determined to make it to one festival this year, that is if I can work it into my work load at work - so I guess I better get going on that. Right now, I am aiming for the MI fiber festival - not too far a drive (600 miles?) from here . . .

I have been working on my DFS shaw/scarf almost everyday, but alot of times that only means one or two rows an day - but here it is almost four repeats completed:

This is from Lisa S's and her infamous Sock! in the color Sky Drama! Don'tcha just love it?

Bryan is home from college and his sister is estatic about that! Fortunately for me, they have turned into really good friends as well as being brother and sister. So, we have been busy with laundry, laundry and more laundry - not much time for anything else, although we did make a trip to the library and book store too, yesterday. Still working on training Bailey, I a pretty sure that will be an never ending job for the next year or so! Here she is almost grown up, it's amazing how fast puppies turn into dogs!
